Corporate Social Responsibility
Each year, some 40 million towel rolls, 7.5 million dust mats and 80 million items of clothing are washed in our more than
55 laundry facilities. There are some 1600 service vehicles in action each day. As a company rich in tradition and a global
player, CWS-boco is especially aware of their responsibility to the following generations. As the specialist for washroom
hygiene, corporate wear and dust control mats, we are committed to sustainability and environmental protection. This commitment
extends to all areas of the company: starting with the development of textile and washroom hygiene solutions, to processing
the textiles in the laundry facilities up to logistics. We call it 360 degrees of sustainability. Our environmental management
is certified according to DIN EN ISO 14001.
Sustainable management means, among other things, to protect valuable resources. Protecting water, soil, and air, as well as efficient use of raw materials are an active component in our corporate policy.
In addition to that, we also work with external institutions and experts in order to constantly orientate our quality and environmental management to the highest standards.
Subscription program
Our entire business model of rental solutions is based on the principle of sustainability: we rent washroom solutions, dust control mats and textile products, which we process in resources-saving procedures. Our textiles are durable and made for long-term use.
Laundry facilities
All laundry facilities are oriented to water and energy saving systems, and certified according to international quality, environmental and hygiene management standards. For example, the laundry water from the towel rolls is re-used to launder the dust control mats. An efficient washing technique and optimized laundry process reduce the use of water and laundry detergent.
Products
CWS-boco have realized the “green washroom“: foam soap dispensers and sensor faucets save water. Our soap concentrates are biodegradable and our room air fresheners ecological. Our core product is the cotton towel roll. Providing approx. 150 portions per clean roll and round about 100 washing cycles, washroom users can dry their hands up to 15.000 times with a “CWS Universal Roll wide“ before it is taken out of service and approx 90 per cent of it are recycled for use as a cleaning cloth. In the course of its life, a cotton towel roll thus replaces approx. 30.000 paper towels, based on 100 washing cycles of a “CWS Universal Roll wide“ which provides approx. 150 applications per clean roll and an underlying use of 2 simple paper towels.
Logistics
In our service logistics, CWS-boco aims at the service fleet having the lowest possible emission values. Detailed training teaches drivers environmentally friendly routes and ways of driving, and loads are continually optimized. Since 2008, parts of the fleet have gradually been converted to natural gas vehicles. Field tests on other alternative types of drive are in progress.

CWS-boco are committed to maintaining good health through hygiene projects promoted by the German Toilet Organization, and providing educational work wherever it is necessary. Relief efforts in disaster areas are a part of the company’s identity.
Development in Europe
CWS-boco has its own product development in Germany and Switzerland. Manufacturing is done to a great extent within Europe. Corporate wear is created by our own garment makers. We work in close cooperation with leading European research institutes. This means we invest sustainably in Europe, maintaining valuable manpower and innovative power within Europe.
