Used on the Mercy Ships hospital ship as well as by Humedica onshore.
Dreieich, 12 February 2010. CWS-boco, specialist for professional workwear and washroom hygiene solutions, donate 6,500 items
of surgical clothing to Mercy Ships and their partner organisation Humedica. Mercy Ships will use the clothing on their hospital
ship named MS Africa Mercy. The partner organisation Humedica is active predominantly onshore in crisis regions, among others
in the earthquake-stricken Haiti. With their donation, CWS-boco provide support to the aid teams on site and prove again their
corporate social responsibility
The international relief organisation Mercy Ships will take part of the donated surgical clothing for use on their hospital
ship MS Africa Mercy, which has been anchored near the Togolese capital city of Lomé since 10 February 2010. The crew consists
mainly of volunteer doctors and nurses from some 40 different nations. In Togo, the doctors on the ship will offer specialised
surgery procedures for six months, such as tumor removal and eye operations. The partner organisation Humedica sends teams
of doctors to crisis regions such as Sudan and Zimbabwe, and currently also to Haiti, where a part of the surgical clothing
will be worn by the organisation’s doctors and nurses when treating earthquake victims.
