Verizon Wireless constructed a new 300,000 square foot facility in Southlake, Texas and needed an air conditioning system that would provide 100 percent redundancy for back up for the existing chiller plant. HTS was chosen as the basis of design, and Daikin equipment was selected because they are the only manufacturer able to meet the requirement of providing an air cooled unit up to 550 tons.

Four Daikin Air Cooled Chillers were installed, totaling 2,200 tons and providing enough tonnage for the facility within the desired footprint. HTS was able to work with Polk Mechanical and Wicke, Fisher, White to design a system of air cooled chillers that are able to power up quickly and operate at 100 percent in a backup mode scenario,
