HTS provided an energy-efficient HVAC system to the new Bay Area Regional Medical Center in Webster, TX, owned by Houston-based Medistar Corp. The 9-floor facility is set to open early 2014 and plans to eventually expand to 11 floors.
HTS worked with the engineer, CCRD, to lay out a quality system for the building. This included 10 Daikin Applied Vision air handling units, ranging from 32-95 tons and 15-38,000 CFM. Alongside the air handlers, two 600-ton Daikin Applied WSC centrifugal chillers were installed. To round out the system, 51 Daikin Applied fan coil units were supplied, along with three hot water coils and 19 Danfoss Variable Frequency Drives, ranging from 10-100 HP.
