HTS supplies DWD International with custom HVAC Equipment and Control Systems designed for offshore installations on platforms like this one. As pictured above.
For the Big Foot Electrical Buildings, located offshore in the Gulf of Mexico, HTS Texas was presented with new challenges.
Despite many last minute design changes and production problems, HTS strove to maintain client satisfaction with its flexibility of design and order coordination. This was the first time ever that VAV boxes were applied on an offshore platform. HTS also helped create a DDC control system, unheard of in offshore facilities where they were still using “old school” push button panels.
Eight fully custom energy-efficient Haakon air handling units were installed, totaling 217,059 cfm. On top of that, 27 ETI VAV terminal boxes were put in, totaling 127,691 cfm, and a Siemens Talon building automation controls. Using the DDC control system on the offshore platform will drastically improve operations diagnostics and operational efficiency of information and energy consumption.
