HTS New England supplied a new HVAC system for Google’s Cambridge campus. The 300,000 square-foot, 12 floor set of buildings needed a complete renovation and office outfit. The renovation merged three individual buildings into a connected facility. The Google Cambridge office is responsible for the server software that powers YouTube, along with co-developing the Chrome Internet browser.
HTS provided two Daikin Applied rooftop RoofPak units, chosen for the unit’s high energy efficiency, quality, and reliability, and 172 Daikin Applied SmartSource water-source heat pumps. This equipment helped Google achieve their goals of earning Silver and Gold LEED Certifications, while reducing operating costs, allowing the building to qualify for Mass Save rebate incentives.
