HTS New England was selected to provide rooftop units to renovate the Hood Milk Charlestown location. The iconic facility, referred to as “The Hood Plant,” was the founding location of Hood Milk in 1846. The 100,000 square-foot complex had a 25 year old, malfunctioning RPS units.
Throughout three phases, HTS completed the installation of six Daikin Roofpak units during three cooling seasons:
- Phase I: Two Daikin 100 ton Roofpak rooftop units
- Phase II: Two Daikin 100 ton Roofpak rooftop units
- Phase III: Two Daikin 50 ton Roofpak rooftop units
Existing units were removed, and the Daikin RPS units were installed, piped, wired, and started in one weekend during each phase. All equipment had to fit existing conditions, and we executed critical field measurements to ensure proper installation. The Daikin system provides the Hood Plant with premium efficiency, allowing the building to qualify for Mass Save rebate incentives.
