Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio required renovations on two floors of the facility and needed a cost-effective air conditioning system that would provide year-round humidity control. HTS was chosen as the basis of design based on design-build capabilities and provided EZ Mechanical with several pieces of equipment to create an energy-efficient system that helped earn the facility a LEED Silver certification. The system included a 25-ton Daikin AGZ chiller, a 40-ton Daikin Vision air handling unit, four Daikin unit heaters, and two 15-ton Daikin Rebel rooftop units for humidity control. HTS also installed a Distech controls system on the chillers, boilers, and VAV units, which was integrated into the front end of the building automation system.
