The Peterborough Regional Health Centre, a $197 million hospital facility that opened in 2008, is composed of five interconnected blocks that share a common HVAC system. HTS was the supplier of the HVAC equipment for the 715,000-square-foot facility, which combined Peterborough Civic Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital on the former’s existing 35-acre site. The new hospital has more than 500 beds, including facilities for ambulatory care, emergency care, intensive care, surgery and support services.
With a history dating back more than a century, Peterborough Regional Health Centre now services a population of about 300,000 people in four counties. The hospital is the largest employer in the entire region with a staff of more than 2,200.
