The 53,000 sq. ft. Gulf Coast arts center presented several challenges: guard against the potential for cross-contamination from art supply chemicals in storage, provide corrosion resistance, control humidity to protect the art, and keep people comfortable. To meet all of these needs, HTS worked with design and construction team to provide the facility with SEMCO custom air handling units and SEMCO energy recovery units. SEMCO’s Pinnacle energy recovery units were an ideal fit for this TAMU facility because they can manage 100% of a building’s ventilation, humidity and temperature while also reducing energy loads. In addition, SEMCO’s desiccant wheels are also independently certified and have virtually no cross-contamination (less than 0.04 percent).
