HTS Texas was chosen as the basis of design for The Union Dallas, a new 800,000 square foot mixed-use facility in Uptown Dallas. The construction that began in 2016 and is set to be completed in 2018, includes two towers with 417,000 square feet of office space, and a 309-unit residential high-rise apartment building, as well as 87,000 square feet of retail space.
In order to accommodate the size and occupancy of the new development, The Union Dallas required a powerful HVAC system that would not only serve the life of the high-rise construction but also save on water and energy usage. Based on a dependable reputation, footprint, and equipment efficiency, HTS Texas selected and provided four 30,000 lb. Daikin Applied AWV Pathfinder® air-cooled chillers that were crane-lifted to the building’s rooftop.
HTS Texas was able to present a cost-effective solution and exceed the project requirements with the four air-cooled screw chillers that are also 100% configurable with Daikin’s VVR technology, which allows complete control to save energy while still maintaining varying occupancy needs.
