HTS is supplier of HVAC equipment for the six-story, 176,000-square-foot Engineering V building at the University of Waterloo. The first of a two-phase building, Engineering V will house a student design centre on its first two levels. The other four floors are designated for space for the faculties of mechanical and mechatronics engineering, electrical and computer engineering and systems design.
The building will contain an electromagnetic radiation laboratory on its north end, featuring an anechoic chamber. That is a shielded room that will be used for research in wireless communications. The building also will have a designated green roof area and native landscaping, along with glass walls, and the goal is for Engineering V to be certified as LEED-Platinum.
HTS was specified as the Basis of Design supplier for the following equipment:
