Refrigerants Seminar: Where are we headed in North America? – Session Full
Date: Thursday, May 17th, 2018
Morning Session: 10:30AM – 12:00PM
Afternoon Session: 1:00PM – 2:30PM
Details of Session
The commercial air conditioning world is entering into the next phase of refrigerant regulations. Now that the high ozone depletion potential fluids have been addressed through the Montreal Protocol, the new focus is on global warming potential and the reduction of greenhouse gasses.
This discussion will address some of the history of the first refrigerant regulations that took us from the high ozone depletion potential fluids into the fluids we use today and the process that the industry used for reduction of these fluids. New fluids with zero ozone depletion and very low global warming potential will be discussed, as well as the processes and timeline required to bring these fluids to market. Regulatory actions that are driving these changes will also be covered, as well as common misconceptions.
The learning objectives of this discussion are to understand the best choices for future refrigerant fluids, the options available for use in today’s equipment, and best fluids for use today.
