Sales Engineer

Position Description: HTS Engineering is searching for young, energetic, entry-level HVAC equipment salespeople. Candidates would enter a training program and would thereafter be responsible for selling in the Boston area. The day-to-day activities will require a mixture of in-office work, field-related work, and customer visitation/support. Sales Engineers at HTS are experts in the HVAC products that HTS sells, ultimately acting as equipment consultants to engineers, contractors, and owners in the building construction process. Work activities could include supporting specifying engineers, selling to contractors, and managing projects. Candidates should be motivated to share the common interest of the sales team by developing relationships with customers. The ideal individual will be capable of successfully performing duties with minimal supervision after a thorough training period. This position offers limitless potential for growth and is well-suited for a highly motivated and energetic individual. Support from senior mentors is always available as needed. A successful Sales Engineer has a unique mix of interpersonal sales skills, business interests, and technical engineering aptitude.
HTS Engineering: HTS has 16 locations in Canada and the United States, and is a full-service HVAC&R equipment distributor. Engineers, contractors, and owners turn to HTS because they know we understand their viewpoints, needs, and concerns, and are able to provide insight and manage projects from start to completion with consistent success.
Candidates may come from a range of backgrounds. A Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred. Candidate must have a driver’s license, an automobile, and must have comfort in traveling within New England.

Potential Responsibilities:
- Providing product support to engineers during design
- Communicating with mechanical contractors
- Providing post-sale customer support to contractors and owners
- Maintaining healthy/supportive relationships with customers
- Working closely with sales teammates to assure projects are properly executed and customers are satisfied
- Coordination of equipment start-up
- Attending job site meetings
- Local travel (primarily eastern MA, but territory also includes western MA and NH)
- Domestic travel (training, factory visits, and business development)
Compensation:
- Salary during training period, followed by merit-based pay system once training is complete
