Dehumidification for healthcare facilities

“It’s so humid in here”
Said no comfortable person ever

Controlling humidity is one of the hardest feats to accomplish in HVAC system design, especially in hospitals where a dry environment is critical to a safe operations. Luckily, we’ve got some experts on our team. David Schurk, our director of healthcare accounts, recently spoke at the TAHFM Interlink conference about the fundamentals of dehumidification and how exactly to keep doctors cool, dry and happy. Presbyterian Plano Surgery OAU Replacement

planopres_detailsThe operating rooms (ORs) in the Presbyterian Plano Surgery Center were being cooled by an existing chilled water AHU. The surgeons who worked in the ORs were requesting colder and dryer conditions for operations.

HTS was chosen as the basis for design by offering a unique solution to managing the air moisture content with an energy efficient plan. HTS provided the Surgery Center with an 8,500 CFM Munters humidity control unit, which satisfied both the client’s needs and budget.

Dehumidification: setting the standard with Munters

DrycoolThe medical industry is advancing at a quick pace, and so are the dehumidification technologies. It is critical that design engineers identify the required space temperature and dewpoint conditions to determine what dehumidification equipment will meet the needs of the hospital.

Many healthcare facilities have benefitted from Munters’ systems since units of a wide capacity are available. Munters has the experience and expertise to assist you in obtaining the best solution to improve your IAQ while reducing building maintenance and energy costs.
