Notably designed to be the most environmentally friendly school in Canada, the Dr. David Suzuki Public School in Windsor, Ontario, incorporates a host of green features. Those include a planted green roof, a grey water recycling system, along with solar and geothermal heating. The 58,000-square-foot facility, named for the internationally renowned environmentalist, in part is powered by solar photovoltaic technology, funded by the Government of Ontario Green Schools initiative.
Other major HVAC equipment installed in the school was supplied by HTS. The 500-pupil school is being designed to meet LEED platinum standards, effectively showcasing innovative and proven environmental and energy efficient technologies.
