As the population of the University of Texas at Dallas continues to grow, the campus required renovations to accommodate its student body. The school began expanding its Student Services Center and is scheduled to finish the addition in winter 2017.
HTS was chosen as the basis of design to provide air conditioning for the facility. Their custom Innovent air handling unit offerings helped earn a LEED Platinum rating. Custom air handling technology was needed in order for the fan array to meet ASHRAE energy and redundancy requirements.
The 47,000 CFM Innovent custom AHU provided by HTS included R-26 4 inch foam-filled walls, piping vestibules with tread floor plating, and access to drain traps through the floors, as well as a fan array. The HVAC system also included three Daikin fan coils.
