Our task for renovating the UTSW Moncrief Pharmacy in Fort Worth was accompanied by a need for total redundancy. The cost of providing two units was not feasible, but the owner wanted the peace-of-mind knowing that in the event of a component failure, there will still be cool air pushing through the pharmacy.
The Innovent DOAS dual-path custom air handling unit (3,000 CFM) was the perfect fit for this job because it provides 100% redundant airways and refrigeration circuits. With dual air paths, dual electrical circuits, and dual refrigeration circuits, this unit has the ability to continue running effectively even if a component were to fail because it can automatically switch over to another air tunnel. Both tunnels are able to provide over 50 tons of cooling dedicated outdoor air down to 50°F and under. The custom AHU build included variable speed supply fans, condenser fans, and compressors to ensure tight control while maintaining the highest efficiencies in the marketplace.
