Integrating Heat Pump Technology into Rooftop Unit Replacements
About this Webinar
Date: January 16th, 2025
Time: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Presenter: Graham Coote, Owner/Engineering Sales
Rooftop unit replacements have historically been a like-for-like swap from a capacity and technology standpoint. With the rapid improvements in cold-climate heat pump technology and the ever-increasing need to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, it makes more sense than ever to consider adding heat pump technology when replacing your rooftop unit.
This webinar will review the available technologies in packaged rooftop units and make-up air units, including the limitations and important considerations when planning a rooftop unit replacement. We will also review available backup heating types, including gas and electric heat, and investigate the benefits and drawbacks of each.
Reducing installed heat pump capacity can yield significant benefits from capital cost, operational cost, and efficiency standpoints. So, we will review strategies to help reduce the required heat pump capacity, including using energy recovery, demand control ventilation and incorporating gas-phase cleaners to cleaners to reduce
ventilation.
