Situated in Upper West Manhattan, 470 Columbus Ave is an eight-story luxury condo building packed with efficient designs that exceed the highest-level environmental standards of the German-based Passive House Institute.
At the heart of this building is an efficient Lennox Commercial VRF system we provided that features 10 condensing units totaling 63 tons of capacity, 10 tons of which provides simultaneous heating and cooling via heat recovery to serve lobby, gym and amenity spaces. These units are the primary heat for the building with the capability of running down to -13°F to ensure optimal indoor comfort even in the most frigid weather conditions.
As each indoor unit is connected to Lennox’s state-of-the-art WiFi thermostats, tenants can simply monitor and control their units from phones, tablets, or computers anytime, anywhere.
This building is also a perfect example of maximized IAQ. UV lights are installed throughout ductwork to achieve 99.9% disinfection rate, and dedicated DOAS systems are bringing fresh air directly into each unit 24/7. Each of the building’s window also uses triple glazed glass, offering unparalleled acoustic and thermal insulation.
