The Town of Halton Hills underwent substantial renovations and revitalization of the Georgetown Public Library. The original building was initially constructed in 1895, and as such the revitalization took special care to not disturb many of the original architectural features. In addition to the library space, the building contains an art gallery, theatre, and cultural centre. The project included the renovation of a local arts theatre and has enriched 34,400 square feet of space including a large children’s area, internet stations, and quiet reading rooms. The design is anticipated to achieve LEED Silver certification.
During early design phase, HTS Engineering was selected as the base bid supplier for the major mechanical equipment and control systems. This included a complete building management control system as well as geothermal rooftop units with integral ventilation energy recovery.
