In Fall 2016, Veterans Memorial High School opened its doors to 1,600 students from Judson ISD in San Antonio, TX. At full capacity, the school can accommodate 2,600 students from 9th-12th grade. HTS was able to provide a comprehensive HVAC system for the facility that included mechanical equipment, airside products, and a controls system.
The building was equipped with three Daikin Magnetic Bearing Chillers, 20 air handlers, 325 VAVs, Danfoss drives, and grilles. A Building Automation System tied the equipment together and gave the end-user more flexibility in controlling the temperature in various spaces throughout the school. The system created an ideal indoor air environment for students and faculty, and the selection of chiller equipment from HTS resulted in a $450,000 rebate from CPS Energy.
