At this LEED-Silver certified 300,000 sq. ft. facility, 970,000 CFM Energy Recovery Systems utilizing Semco Energy Recovery Wheels were installed. Despite concern about cross-contamination of exhaust to air supply, Semco’s independent research on cross-contamination and a long history of experience is what allowed the project to retain the energy recovery wheel concept.
HTS Texas also provided Haakon custom air handling units for the research collaborative, where scientists and educators from Rice and other Texas Medical Center (TMC) institutions work together to perform research that benefits human medicine and health.
