The smoke-filled environment of the 90,000 square-foot Rivercity Casino in Lemay, Missouri was in need of major energy recovery for its gaming floor. HTS was called to support the design team for the project and quickly provide quality solutions to help the construction stay ahead of schedule.
SEMCO manufactures the only energy recovery wheel that meets the strict City of St. Louis code for air-to-air energy recovery. Six of the SEMCO EPHCH energy recovery units (ERU) were installed, totaling 185,000 cfm of outside air with pre-heat, cooling, post-heat and fully integrated controls. The units allow for precise and highly reliable temperature and humidity control for the casino floor.
The SEMCO units’ premium efficiency eliminated the need for one of the facility’s 1,000 ton chillers. The ERUs also have a proven ability to eliminate cross contamination in the smoking environment, a major benefit to the casino’s smoke-friendly facility.
