The Sparroway project required a high-efficiency HVAC solution that supported Toronto Community Housing’s ambitious decarbonization and energy-reduction objectives. Daikin Aurora low-ambient wall-mounted heat pumps were selected for their performance, reliability, and ability to deliver heating in cold-weather conditions, supported by electric baseboard backup. Oxygen8 Nova ERVs, paired with Daikin VRV-S condensing units, provided balanced ventilation and integrated heating and cooling, offering a streamlined, efficient approach that met both schedule and budget requirements.
This project is part of a comprehensive deep-energy upgrade targeting over 50% emissions reduction and 42% energy savings across the building.
HTS/DXS supplied the following equipment:
- 175 × Daikin Aurora Low-Ambient Heating Wall-Mounted Split Heat Pumps (with electric baseboard backup)
- 13 × Oxygen8 Nova Energy Recovery Ventilators (with electric pre-heat and refrigeration coils, powered by Daikin VRV-S)
