HTS Texas helped Stage Stores Inc., located in Houston, solve their temperature control problems for their four-floor office with the installation of a new HVAC system featuring the Daikin McQuay Maverick II rooftop unit.
The Maverick II was the basis of design since it has a modulating hot gas reheat coil that’s used for humidity control – one of Stage Stores’ main issues with their old system. The full double wall construction and spring isolated plenum fans were another reason HTS and Daikin McQuay were selected as the basis of design.
Thirteen Maverick II units were installed, totaling 410 tons. These products are cost-effective, high-efficiency models that offer humidity control and five steps of capacity. The optimization of temperature control met the client’s goals and needs, along with providing upgraded efficiency.
Despite budgetary, delivery and controls integration challenges, all the units were successfully installed before summer and provided the client with a premium HVAC solution.
