The uOttawa Faculty of Health Sciences Building showcases a collaborative design-build approach aimed at delivering energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and fast-track project execution. HTS worked closely with the entire project team to select the optimal mix of mechanical equipment to meet the building’s efficiency targets while staying within budget and on schedule.
At the heart of the mechanical system are high-efficiency Dual Core Tempeff DOAS units, operating at approximately 90% efficiency. These units serve as the workhorse of the facility, providing exceptional energy recovery that significantly reduces the building’s heating load. By lowering reliance on conventional heating, the system plays a key role in supporting the decarbonization goals of the facility while maintaining occupant comfort.
HTS Provided the following Equipment:
- Bell & Gossett Pumps and Heat Exchangers
- Danfoss Variable Frequency Drives
- Haakon Air Handling Units
- Halton Kitchen Exhaust Hoods
- Kinetics Silencers
- Metalaire VAV Boxes and GRDs
- Tempeff Dual Core DOAS units
- Ventex Louvres
- Viessmann CI2 Boilers
