The existing units at the USPS Fort Worth Downtown Station were over 30 years old and in need of replacement. HTS Texas was selected for this project based on our ability to provide the best and most cost-effective solution to meet the owner’s needs. The goal was to replace the existing multi-zone units quickly and effectively with minimal downtime and without tearing down walls or spending too much money on labor for disassembly/reassembly.
The Daikin Vision air handling units gave our team the flexibility to meet these constraints. In order to keep the labor cost down, we provided AHUs that shipped in sections that could fit through single-width doorways. Upon arrival, each section of the unit was pulled into the mechanical rooms, then the contractor was able to easily piece the sections together with splice collars and assemble the units within the space. In contrast, other AHU providers would have required either a full disassembly/reassembly or have the walls torn down to install. HTS Texas installed a mix of eight total multi-zone and single-zone units totaling 114,000 CFM.
