Kindred Hospital had multiple outdated units at the end of their lifespan and was on the verge of failure. The hospital owner needed an immediate solution with the possibility of an increase in building tonnage capabilities for future space additions.
Our team partnered with Entech Fort Worth to provide a solution to meet the owner’s capacity, efficiency, and time restrictions. Final project completion through all renovated units was mandated prior to the end of 2020 to comply with budget spending restrictions. To ensure this deadline was met, we set strict delivery and billing requirements and worked directly with the factory scheduling team to meet all deadlines. We also coordinated and pushed temporary air throughout the building with unit replacements, as this site was an active COVID-19 treatment hospital and needed immediate replacements.
The full package of HTS equipment installed included one 185-ton Daikin Trailblazer AGZ air-cooled chiller (designed to keep the same footprint as an existing 150-ton air-cooled chiller), two Skyline air handling units totaling 31,000 CFM, and 28 VAV Boxes (single duct and fan-powered). Our team continues to work with Entech and Kindred on ongoing renovations after a successful 2020 calendar year.
